My food…I’m pretty serious about it. Am I a Foodie? Well, I don’t know. I don’t really like labels. I am someone who enjoys making things with all of the edible creations that God has entrusted to us. I am what some would refer to as semi-professional. I am a professional, home baker which means that I have a license to sell cottage foods from my home kitchen. I bake to order. I don’t know everything, but I know how to find what I need for everything by researching the internet and old cookbooks.
My style of cooking is much like my style of painting. Freestyle or Abstract. I start with a basic flavor and build from there. I’ve never been great a meal planning because of that style. To me, meal planning (while very important for those with time and money budgets) is very boring. I need to be doing it, but I just have a problem forcing myself to sit down and come up with something beyond…chicken and vegetables. I guess what I could do is plan for those basic flavors…hmm that could work. Wow…sorry about that. That was one of my A.D.D. moments–welcome to my head! Back to what I was saying, my food is like art to me. The full experience of it is important–from putting it together to enjoying it bite by bite as I analyze what worked and what didn’t. The only part about the food experience I don’t like are the dishes! 🙂
What I will share with you here will be my own creations or a spin on something I have seen. I seldom ever use a recipe word for word. I like to take a good foundation, and then make alterations to make the process enjoyable for me and also to make the end product an original.
